Hi Helen, I thought we would have to have this rather one sided conversation following on from last summer! I remembered meeting you and Cheryl in the “ back office” near the library on the day of my interview. What I didn’t know until,after I got the job and came for a wander was that you were a bit bored doing RoA typing and fancied a bit more of a challenge being the new headteachers PA! You certainly got that. As I didn’t know how to be a headteacher and you didn’t know how to be a PA, it was a match made in heaven!! We learnt on the job and together. Both roles were so wide, fulfilling and at times terrifying we quickly built a very strong bond. It surpassed work. You even convinced Keith to let me have your back bedroom when it snowed too hard to get home and to let me drop in when I had evening “dos”. Just incredible. We got to know each other in a very pressured and at times threatening environment. You were always a fantastic gate keeper and knew me better than anyone, and I mean anyone. I’m glad I told you how special you were to me when we last met. My regret is that I can’t be with you on Monday and we even share that reason. Bruno says he is very sorry.
